What’s it all about????

The Cat’s Pyjamas is an attempt to cover every song that Elvis Costello has recorded by bands and singers throughout the world. The spirit of The Cat’s Pyjamas is the songs themselves not the musical ability of those doing the covers or any snobbery over production quality.

The only criteria for those taking part is that each band/ singer can only do one song and that each Elvis song will only have one version published! Once the version has arrived the song will be crossed off our list.

I am realistic in the chance of getting hundreds of artists to get involved so in the spirit of Elvis I am happy to consider artist appearing under assumed names. This is the time for you to pay tribute to The Emotional Toothpaste, The Imposter as well as D.P.A McManus. As long as people enter into the spirit of things we are happy to hear anything.

The Cat’s Pyjamas came from the 'pink pig' (www.pinkpig.com.ar) project that was started by two fans of The Cure a few years ago who, through their website and a subsequent limited CD run covered every original track recorded by The Cure. We are aware of other Internet based Elvis tributes but we wanted to take it to the next level and emulate Pink Pig.

So any of you who want to take part get in touch and when we get down to brass tacks we can chew the fat over the small print…….which is in the spirit of The Cat’s Pyjamas non-profit making philosophy.
